2024 Independent Candidate / School Board Candidate

August 16, 2023 is the first day to circulate a petition if you are running as an Independent for a county office in the upcoming 2024 election cycle. 

Independent Candidates for any County office may begin circulating petitions on August 16th at noon and has until May 1, 2024 at noon to file the petition.

Please note that all other filing for office paperwork must be filed during the one week filing period of November 6, 2023 to November 14, 2023.

County Level positions that are up for re-election in 2024 is:

All 10 of the Justice of the Peace District 

All 3 Constable

For a School Board position, you may begin circulating petitions on August 16th, but it is required to file the petition with the required paperwork in the filing period of November 6th to 14th. Filing in this time period are for the upcoming 2024 election cycle.

School Districts up in 2024:

Alpena: Zone 1 currently held by Robb Husley

Bergman: Position 2 currently held by Danny (DJ) Collins 

Harrison: Previously Zone 4 currently held by Nate Wilson

Lead Hill: Zone 4 currently held by Danny James Baker

Omaha: Position 2 currently held by Joel Wolf

Valley: No Position number assigned held by Randy Richardson
